Zelensky on Putin's demand to stop aiding Ukraine: serious partners won't agree to this

Kyiv's partners will not give in to Russia's demand to stop providing defense assistance to Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a virtual press conference on Tuesday evening, answering a question from an Ukrinform correspondent about Russian demands to stop international security assistance to Ukraine.

“I believe that serious partners will not do this, and this will be the right decision. They understand that this weakens the Ukrainian side. And it is not only that Ukraine needs support now. Ukraine will need support after the war is over. This is where security lies. This is not a game where Putin alone sets the rules. And I am sure that assistance will continue to flow,” Zelensky noted.

The head of state added that Ukraine receives support from both the United States and its European allies, and expressed confidence that it will continue.

“We are in constant contact. I am confident that there will be no betrayal on the part of our partners, and assistance will continue,” Zelensky said.
