UK supports Ukraine not just now but for 100 years to come – Era Secretary
This was announced by the UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Stephen Doty during a discussion panel at the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, reports an Ukrinform correspondent.
“This is a brutal attack (Russia’s war against Ukraine – ed.) on the values that we all stand for here. So I think we need to fully understand what is at stake. That is why we, as the UK, stand 100% behind Ukraine, not just at this moment in time, but for 100 years to come. That is why we are working with our NATO partners and allies here… And that is why we must redouble our efforts not only to support Ukraine, but to ensure European, Euro-Atlantic security as a whole – that is what we are doing,” he said.
The British minister noted that Russia's actions are not only aggression against Ukraine. They are also other hybrid and destabilizing activities that Russia carries out on various continents against democracies in general.
“This will affect all of us… if the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty are not respected,” he stressed.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Antalya Diplomatic Forum is taking place in Turkey from April 11 to 13. In his closing remarks, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that ending Russia's war against Ukraine through a fair and sustainable peace agreement remains a priority for Turkey.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, in an interview with Ukrinform during his participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, noted that the world recognizes the need and importance of a fair end to the war in Ukraine, since it directly affects the security situation in other regions of the world.
