Italy and Britain ready to overcome differences and prevent the split of the West – Meloni

During a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed her determination to achieve a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine.

The Guardian reports this with reference to PA, Ukrinform reports.

“We are all very committed to the goal we are striving for – a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine,” the Italian Prime Minister noted.

Speaking at Downing Street, Meloni stressed that at this “precious moment” it was “crucial to communicate with each other and coordinate our actions”.

“I think it is very important to avoid the risk of dividing the West. I think the UK and Italy can play a significant role in building bridges in this regard,” Meloni added.

As reported by Ukrinform, the summit on March 2 in London will focus on strengthening Ukraine's position, including continuing military assistance, increasing economic pressure on Russia, ensuring a just peace and developing reliable security guarantees for Ukraine.
