ShchZ strike in Sumy: Such attacks show Russia's true “readiness” for peace

Germany strongly condemns the Russian missile attack on civilians in the center of Sumy and demands that Russia stop its terrorist actions.

Acting German Chancellor Olaf Schtz commented on Russia's missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy in a post on the X website, as reported by Ukrinform.

“The images from Sumy, where Russian missiles took the lives of innocent civilians on Palm Sunday, are horrifying. […] Germany categorically condemns this barbaric attack. Such Russian attacks expose the reality of Russia's supposed readiness for peace. Instead of the desired peace, we are seeing Russia ruthlessly continuing its aggressive war against Ukraine. This war must end, and Russia must finally agree to a comprehensive ceasefire. We are working to achieve these goals together with our European and international partners,” Shts said.

He added that his thoughts were with Germany's friends and the families of the victims and survivors.
