House Democratic Leader: Trump-Zelensky Relations Must Be Saved for 'Good of the Free World'

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says relations between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky need to be repaired for the “good of the free world.”

He spoke about this in an interview with CNN, as reported by Ukrinform with reference to The Hill.

“If America is going to continue to maintain this tension, it must be saved in order to protect the free world,” Jeffries said.

“U.S. leadership in the free world after World War II — the creation of a rules-based society around the world that serves America's national security interests — must ensure the safety and security of our country and spare it the global conflicts that have cost so many lives, including American lives in World War I and World War II,” he said.

The House Democratic leader said “we're definitely going to need to see mature leadership from the Trump administration.”
