Another 10 underground schools to open in Zaporizhia region by September 1

By September 1, it is planned to open 10 more underground schools in Zaporozhye and the region.

The head of the Zaporizhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“There are currently six underground schools in operation, where children attend classes daily. Another five are under construction, and we plan to open the next one in April-May. By September 1, we intend to create a total of 10 more underground schools, which will be able to accommodate up to 10,000 students,” Fedorov said.

He emphasized that these institutions are fully-fledged educational institutions that allow children to study and prepare for the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT). The project is fully funded by the state, 11 schools have already received funding, and another 12 are awaiting approval.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Education and Science announced the opening of the sixth underground school in Zaporizhia. The school has 15 classrooms, recreation areas, a medical center, a cloakroom, and a canteen. It provides full-time education for children in two shifts, as well as the presence of pupils from nearby kindergartens.
