Zelensky: Minerals deal will allow building LNG terminals in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian-American agreement on the creation of the Investment Reconstruction Fund, which is expected to be signed today, will provide opportunities for the construction of LNG terminals in Ukraine.

The President made this statement during a short speech at the White House in the presence of US President Donald Trump, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“There were no LNG terminals (terminals for receiving and regasifying liquefied natural gas) in Ukraine. This document will create such an opportunity. More precisely, the next document, but within the framework of this agreement we see very favorable conditions for the creation of such terminals,” Zelensky noted.

The President emphasized that the construction of such terminals will also be an important aspect of Ere's security.

“We have the largest gas storage facilities in Ere,” Zelensky added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on Friday, delegations from Ukraine and the United States intend to sign a bilateral agreement on the formation of rules and conditions for the functioning of the Investment Reconstruction Fund.
