Zelensky and Meloni discussed joint actions to achieve a just peace

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss a joint action plan aimed at ending the war and establishing a just and sustainable peace.

According to Ukrinform, Zelensky reported this on his Facebook page.

“I had a productive meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, to develop a joint action plan aimed at ending the war with a just and sustainable peace. No one except Putin is interested in continuing the conflict and quickly returning to war. Therefore, it is extremely important to maintain unity around Ukraine and strengthen the position of our country in cooperation with our partners – the EU states and the United States,” Zelensky said.

He emphasized that Ukraine needs peace, provided with reliable security guarantees.

The President expressed gratitude to Italy for its continued support and partnership in the quest to achieve peace in Ukraine.

According to information from the president's official website, Zelensky and Meloni discussed the importance of unity around Ukraine and the need to strengthen the country's position in cooperation with allies, including European countries and the United States.

They also specifically touched on the issue of reliable security guarantees for Ukraine and the entire region. Ukrainians must be confident that Russia will never return with war.

In addition, the leaders discussed new formats of consultations between the EU and the United States.

As reported by Ukrinform, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during a meeting with her British counterpart Keir Starmer in London, confirmed her commitment to achieving a fair and sustainable peace in Ukraine.
