The meeting between Zelensky and Charles III lasted almost an hour

On Sunday evening, King Charles III of Great Britain held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at his estate in Norfolk, which lasted about an hour.

Sky News reports this, Ukrinform reports.

Zelensky arrived for the meeting by helicopter from Lancaster House in London, where the EU leaders' summit on Ukraine was taking place, and was personally greeted by King Charles III at the entrance to the estate.

According to The Guardian, the British authorities agreed to this meeting in response to a request from the Ukrainian president.

A brief statement from Buckingham Palace said: “This evening His Majesty the King received the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in the Salon at Sandringham House.”

The palace added that “the president was warmly welcomed and the meeting lasted just under an hour.”

Further details about the meeting were not disclosed.

The first meeting of heads of state at Buckingham Palace took place in 2023. Last year, on the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, the king issued a strong message of support for Ukraine, speaking of the brutal aggression Ukrainians had faced and praising the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 2, a summit of international leaders on issues of support for Ukraine was held in the capital of Great Britain, London.
