China sees new trends in critical settlement of ‘Ukrainian crisis’ – MFA

As noted by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lin Jian, China notices new trends in resolving the “Ukrainian crisis” and supports approaches that will lead to stable and long-term peace.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, March 5, Lin commented on the meeting held on March 2 in London, where EU leaders gathered to discuss the situation in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

He noted that China continues to uphold four core principles in the process of resolving the situation, including respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, adherence to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, peaceful resolution of disputes, and taking into account the “legitimate security interests” of all parties – a phrase often used in Russian propaganda to justify the invasion of Ukraine.

“China hopes that relevant parties can reach a sustainable and long-term solution that takes into account mutual interests through dialogue and negotiation,” Lin added.
