Ukraine has received a new version of the Minerals Agreement from the United States. Legal experts will study the Minerals Agreement received from the United States. The format of the document has been changed.

This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference on March 28, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I would like to emphasize that the official representatives of Ukraine, namely the Cabinet of Ministers and the Office of the President, today officially received a note with a proposal from the United States. This is of great importance. Not just once, but today,” Zelensky noted.

The President also emphasized that the Ukrainian side must carefully study the received document, and lawyers must check all agreements reached during the negotiation process.

“Secondly, some time ago, our Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko received this agreement during bilateral contact with Mr. Bessent (US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent). She noted that it is difficult to comment on it, since it is a completely different document. Many aspects were not discussed. In addition, some points have already been rejected by the parties,” he added.

“This agreement needs to be compared to determine whether it is the same. I want us to have a detailed review from lawyers at the highest level. Let the lawyers analyze all these agreements. I will accept the agreement that was officially submitted to our side. The format has been changed. Let's look at this format and discuss it. We have the Constitution of Ukraine,” Zelensky emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 28, First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko said that Ukraine had received a working version of the text of the agreement with the United States on mineral resources and was currently analyzing it. Public discussions of the text of this agreement at this stage could negatively affect the negotiation process.
