On March 27, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a bill (No. 4560) with 267 votes in favor, concerning the regulation of services in the field of road transport in accordance with European directives. This law introduces restrictions on the licensing of companies with a “good” reputation, i.e. without serious violations or sanctions for serious violations in the field of transport.
“The main changes concern licensing rules. Financial requirements will be established for carriers, which will ensure that companies have financial guarantees or insurance. Companies will also be required to hire professional managers,” Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Serhiy Derkach noted on Facebook.
He added that the law, which will come into force a year after its adoption, brings the Ukrainian transport market closer to EU standards.
“This opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian carriers, creates a more competitive environment and improves the quality of services,” Derkach emphasized. He also said that the new law will unite information security systems in Ukrainian transport into a single database.
