IMF Board Approves Seventh Review of Ukraine's Program

The results of the work of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) showed approval for the allocation of 400 million US dollars to Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, this information was provided by the IMF press service.

“Today, the IMF Board of Directors completed the seventh review of the extended program under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine, which resulted in the disbursement of approximately US$0.4 billion,” the statement said.

It is specified that these funds will be used to support the budget of Ukraine. “This will increase the total amount of payments under the IMF-supported program to 10.1 billion US dollars,” the press service added.

In addition, the IMF noted that Ukraine's economy remains stable and performance indicators under the EFF remain high despite challenging circumstances.

“A sustained pace of reforms, progress in domestic revenue mobilization, and full and timely disbursement of external support throughout the program are necessary to maintain macroeconomic stability, restore fiscal and debt sustainability, and improve governance,” the financial institution said.

As reported by Ukrinform, at the end of February in Kyiv, the IMF mission held talks with the Ukrainian government regarding the Seventh Review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

Over almost two years of the EFF program implementation, Ukraine has successfully passed six reviews — for the first time in the history of cooperation with the IMF. This allowed Ukraine to attract about USD 9.8 billion out of USD 15.5 billion envisaged by the program for 2023-2027 to the state budget.

Ukraine is expected to receive US$2.7 billion from the IMF in 2025 as part of four quarterly reviews.
