How do hotel maids dust? – there are a few tricks

The more dust on the shelves, the more dust in the air, the more often you have to do wet cleaning in the room, informs Ukr.Media.

Stores sell special sprays that reduce the amount of dust on shelves and other horizontal surfaces. I used such a spray once for the sake of experiment. The result is excellent. But the price is a bit high.

• Last year, I went to the hotel with my daughter. I noticed that during the entire stay on vacation, the maid dusted our room no more than twice. I determined this by the booklets neatly folded on the table. At the same time, it cannot be said that the surfaces were covered with dust. Especially if you take into account the activity of my child.

Towards the end of the vacation, an incident occurred. My daughter lost her pajamas. That day, the maid was changing the bed linen. I thought she had accidentally grabbed the pajamas along with the sheets.

Together with the hotel worker, we went to the maids' wing. It was a good thing that the laundry we had taken off in the morning had not yet been taken to the laundry building.

I didn't find any pajamas in the laundry (they were later found in my daughter's things), but I talked to the maid while I was doing it. She told me how easy it is to get rid of dust.

However, for this method to work, you will have to follow a number of simple rules:

• Vacuum your mattresses and pillows more often. Our bedding is the most active supplier of dust.

• Dust carpets, upholstered furniture, and curtains. All of these can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.

• When cleaning, be sure to open the windows. Let the air flow out and carry the dust outside. Otherwise, it will simply fly from one surface to another. Mop the floor and vacuum the carpets more often. The less dust on the floor, the less it will rise up when you move around the rooms.

The main rule of anti-dust spray is to create an antistatic effect on the surface.

• Our maids used regular apple cider vinegar for this. They added 200ml to a liter of warm water. The usual 9% vinegar will also work, but apple cider vinegar has a more pleasant aroma.

• Pour the finished composition into a container with a spray bottle, apply to the surface and wipe with a clean soft cloth. Be sure to try this method, the feeling is that after cleaning even the air in the house has become cleaner.

Salt and glycerin

If the mention of glycerin brings a skeptical look to your face, you've probably tried using it for cleaning, but you've been doing it wrong.

• For three liters of water, add 1 tbsp. of glycerin and the same amount of salt. Wipe the surfaces with this solution. The effect after such cleaning is amazing. This composition can be used for washing the floor. Then the concentration of glycerin and salt can be slightly reduced. Add the specified volume for every five liters of water.

Antistatic

• This is the easiest option. Spray a regular antistatic spray on clean surfaces and rub them. You will see that dust will accumulate on them much more slowly.
