Ukraine wants to host UEFA Super Cup in 2024 or 2025 – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukraine is interested in hosting the UEFA Super Cup in Ukraine in 2024 or 2025 and a number of other football competitions.

He said this at a meeting with UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, the press service of the head of state reported.

"Ukraine successfully co-hosted with Pand the finals of the Eurean Football Championship in 2012 and hosted the UEFA Champions League final in 2018 at a high level. Our country has quite a rich tradition of hding world and Eurean championships in ympic sports at a high level," Zelensky said.

He stressed that Ukraine was interested in hosting the UEFA Super Cup in 2024 or 2025.

Also, according to Zelensky, the Ukrainian Association of Football is considering submitting bids to host the Eurean Women's Football Championship in 2025, the Eurean Men's Beach Soccer Championship, the Eurean Under-21 Championship, the Eurean Under-17 Championship, the Eurean Futsal Championship, and the UEFA Eura Conference League final.

Zelensky thanked Ceferin for the implementation of projects to devel football infrastructure in Ukraine, noting that UEFA provides support in the implementation of programs for internally displaced children from temporarily occupied territories in eastern Ukraine and from Crimea.

Ceferin arrived in Ukraine on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Ukrainian Association of Football.
