UEFA approves Ukraine’s new football kit for Euro 2020
"The shirt of the Ukrainian national team (and of all other teams) for UEFA Euro 2020 has been approved by UEFA, in accordance with the applicable equipment regulations," UEFA said.
The main attribute of the new kit is the image of a map of Ukraine. The new kit provoked outrage in Russia, as the map includes the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula.
Russia illegally occupied Crimea in 2014, but the world does not recognize the accession of the peninsula to Russia.
On June 7, Ukraine will play its last friendly match before Euro 2020. Andr Shevchenko's side will host Cyprus in Kharkiv.
On Sunday, June 13, Ukraine will play its first Euro 2020 match against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.
