Lomachenko, Lez to agree on fight by end of next week

May 30 remains a working date for a unification fight between WBC/WBA/WBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko and IBF champion Teofimo Lez.

The fight is likely to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York (the United States). Organizational issues can be completed next week, T Rank founder and CEO Bob Arum said.

"Everything is being worked out, but [May 30th] is our working date. And it belongs in The Garden. That's a New York fight. My goal is to finalize the fight prior to February 22nd," BoxingScene quoted Arum as saying.

Negotiations between Lomachenko's and Lez's teams on the fight are ongoing. On February 13, Arum met with Lomachenko's manager, Egis Klimas, as well as with Lez's manager, David McWater.

The lightweight title unification fight between Lomachenko and Lez can take place according to the PPV (Pay-per-view) system. Lomachenko will earn a record amount in his professional career. Entering the ring against the 22-year-d Honduran-American will bring Lomachenko $4.5 million.
