Zelensky: New sanctions needed until Russia tries to end war
This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a joint press conference with the President of France Emmanuel Macron, as reported by the Ukrinform correspondent.
“We are separately discussing with the European Union… new packages of sanctions. Until Russia expresses a desire to stop this war, it is necessary to introduce new packages, and their cancellation will be the next step,” Zelensky noted.
According to the president, the issue of sanctions was not on the agenda of the meeting with the American side in Saudi Arabia.
“In general, it was one meeting in one country, and we saw three declarations. That is, it is not so easy to understand, but our bilateral agreement discussed the issues of the sky, the sea, children and prisoners, military and civilians. These are precisely the topics we considered,” the Head of State added.

Zelensky stressed that they also talked about “strike on civilian infrastructure, and it seems that our American partners supported us, but at that time they did not receive approval from the Russian side. Therefore, the issue of sanctions in Saudi Arabia was not raised for us.”
As reported by Ukrinform, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 2 billion euros.
