Zelensky commented on Vitkov's visit to Russia
The president announced this at a briefing on Saturday, as reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
“What happened in Moscow… We cannot be completely sure of what was discussed at these meetings. But we realize that there will be many different “buts” that can weaken Ukraine's position. In this context, the US position is of great importance: if we are talking about a complete ceasefire, then there should be no “buts”, “the head of state said.
He added that a representative of the American negotiating team had already met with the Russian side. Joint efforts by the United States and Ukraine to coordinate actions will be undertaken in the near future.

“We agreed on how we see this situation. I understand that there is a US representative who spoke with the Russians. I think they discussed some issues and agreed on certain positions. Let's see what happens next,” Zelensky said.
The head of state stressed that the Ukrainian side very much hopes for a strict position from the US President if Russia refuses to stop military actions.
“In the coming days, we will coordinate our next steps with the United States. We sincerely believe that if the Russians do not agree to the proposal, Trump's position on Putin will be clear, firm and direct,” the president noted.
As reported by Ukrinform, on Tuesday in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) negotiations were held between the delegations of the USA and Ukraine. Following the meeting, the parties issued a joint statement.

The document states that Ukraine has expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal to immediately introduce a temporary 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, subject to its acceptance and simultaneous implementation by the Russian Federation.
On March 13, US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow, where he met with Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin claims that Putin passed “additional information and signals” to Trump through Witkoff.
