US reaction to missile strike on Krivoy Rog 'surprisingly disappointing' – Zelensky
The president announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“Unfortunately, three-year-old Timofey passed away in the hospital today. Seven-year-old Radislav. Arina, who will also forever be seven. Nine-year-old German. Fifteen-year-old Danilo. Fifteen-year-old Nikita. Fifteen-year-old Alina. Konstantin, who will forever be sixteen. Nikita is seventeen. These are the children who died as a result of a Russian ballistic missile strike on Krivoy Rog. Just a few minutes had passed after the missile was launched from enemy territory in Taganrog. Unfortunately, nine adults also died. My condolences to all the families and loved ones,” Zelensky said.
He added that 62 people were injured as a result of the strike (according to the latest data, 72 people were injured as a result of the attack – ed.), including 12 children. According to him, yesterday Russian troops also used attack drones against Krivoy Rog – during the rescue operation itself. As a result of the drone attacks, seven people were injured, one was killed.
“It is extremely important not to leave this Russian strike on civilians, on the city – each such strike – without an adequate response from the international community. Kryvyi Rih and all of Ukraine have already been supported by many countries yesterday and today. I am grateful for the principled position of the Foreign Ministers of the Czech Republic, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Austria. I also express my gratitude to the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Pika for her position and support. We appreciate the clear statements of the embassies of Japan, Great Britain, Switzerland and Germany. Unfortunately, the reaction of the US Embassy is surprisingly disappointing – such a powerful country, such a strong ally, and at the same time such a weak reaction. They are even afraid to say the word “Russian” when talking about the missile that killed children,” Zelensky wrote.

He stressed that ending the war requires courage to call a spade a spade and put pressure on those who continue the aggression and ignore international calls to stop it.
“We must put pressure on Russia, which chooses to kill children instead of ceasefire. It is necessary to impose additional sanctions against those who cannot exist without ballistic strikes on neighboring countries. We must do everything possible to save lives. And we discussed this, in particular, with the American side, the supply of additional air defense systems to protect against these types of missile attacks. We are counting on our agreements with the US President, who promised to help find more Patriots. And we hope for the power of peace to resist this evil – this war, this Russian aggression,” Zelensky said.
He added that stopping the deaths of civilians, saving the lives of children and establishing lasting peace is only possible thanks to the strength and coordinated actions of Ukraine's partners.
On the evening of April 4, Russian troops launched a ballistic missile attack on a residential area in Krivoy Rog.
