Trump says Ukraine talks may be going well, but it's time to 'put up or shut up'

Trump told reporters this on board Air Force One, as reported by Ukrinform with reference to Reuters.

“I think the relationship between Ukraine and Russia can be good, and you're going to see that. There comes a point where you just have to put up or shut up, and we'll see what happens, but I think it's moving in the right direction,” Trump said.

His comments came a day after he expressed dissatisfaction with Russia's actions and called on it to “move on to a deal.”

Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff held talks with Vladimir Putin on Friday about finding a peace deal.

According to information from the Kremlin, in addition to discussing “various aspects of the Ukrainian settlement,” the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Trump was also considered.
