Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: There Will Be No Easing of Sanctions as Long as Russian Aggression Continues
He stated this at a joint press conference with his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth Eide in Kyiv, as reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy noted that during the negotiations the parties separately discussed the issue of strengthening sanctions against Russia.
“We share the opinion that the pressure on the aggressor must remain in force and increase. Moscow will engage in deception, not negotiations, until it feels real power – diplomatic, military and sanctions. Relieving the pressure is impossible as long as Russian aggression continues,” Sibiga emphasized.
He also added that Russia poses an existential threat to Europe, and defending against it is a common goal for both Europeans and Ukrainians.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that he informed the Norwegian side about the results of the negotiations in Saudi Arabia.
“Ukraine has demonstrated that it is not an obstacle to peace. Now Russia must demonstrate its true intention to end the war through concrete actions, not manipulation. Otherwise, the pressure on Moscow will increase,” the minister emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, on Tuesday, March 25, a new meeting of Ukrainian and US delegations took place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, the Rada, following the Ukrainian-American talks on March 23 and the American-Russian talks on March 24.

The White House also said that during talks between American and Russian delegations on March 24, the United States will help restore Russia's access to global agricultural and fertilizer markets.
The Kremlin stated that the agreement on the safety of navigation in the Black Sea will come into force only after some of the restrictions against Russia are lifted.
