“First of all (the EU foreign policy priority – ed.) is eliminating the consequences of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine. Let me be absolutely clear: any attempt to blackmail Ukraine into capitulating for the sake of a “peace agreement” will only strengthen the aggressor. Putin must not achieve through negotiations what he failed to achieve on the battlefield,” the chairman of the parliamentary committee noted.
“In the coming weeks and months, we will continue to stand united as Ukraine's trusted partners. We will provide Ukraine with the resources to liberate its territory and deter further Russian aggression,” added David McAllister.

As previously reported, Vladimir Putin proposed to the US, the EU and “Russia's partners” to hold talks on introducing “external control” in Ukraine and creating a “legitimate government.” At the same time, the Kremlin considers the international recognition of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as Russian, including Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, including those parts of these regions that were never captured by Russian troops, to be a condition for any talks on ending Russian aggression against Ukraine.
