The Volunteer Coalition held a summit in Paris: what world leaders discussed

The end of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, as evidenced by the departure of the first leaders from the Elysee Palace.

As reported by Ukrinform, this information came from The Guardian.

It is noted that the first to leave the Elysee Palace were leaders such as the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

It is also reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have left the residence of the French president.

Zelensky noted that “everyone realized and understands that Russia is currently not interested in peace,” adding that work on security guarantees for Ukraine will continue in the coming weeks and days.

Starmer described the Coalition of the Willing meeting in Paris as “very productive”.

“We have been very clear that Russia is trying to drag [the peace] out, playing games, and we must be absolutely clear on this issue,” the British Prime Minister said.

He said the participants agreed that greater support for Ukraine was needed “to ensure that the country is in the strongest possible position now and in future negotiations.” He also stressed that during the meeting it was “absolutely clear that now is not the time to lift sanctions.”

“On the contrary, we discussed how we could strengthen sanctions to support the US initiative and put pressure on Russia to return to the negotiating table through further pressure from this group of countries,” Starmer said.

The summit also considered “military and territorial” plans to support a ceasefire and bring peace to Ukraine “on land, in the air or at sea,” the British prime minister said.

“The significant outcome of the meeting was that many countries remained steadfast, as they have for three years, and supported Ukraine at this critical moment for as long as was necessary,” Starmer added.

As reported by Ukrinform, today in Paris the summit of the Coalition of the Willing was held, the main topics of which were the continuation of assistance to Ukraine and the discussion of the structure of future security guarantees for Ukraine after the end of the war.
