Russia spent almost 200 million euros on attempts to falsify the elections in Moldova in 2024 – PM

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Resan has said Russian agents invested around 200 million euros in attempts to falsify the results of the presidential election and referendum on EU integration last year.

Reuters reports this and Ukrinform confirms it.

“Kremlin agents have launched a massive vote-buying campaign, spending around 200 million euros – almost 1% of Moldova's GDP – to destabilize our country,” Resan said at a press conference in Chisinau.

Moldovan law enforcement officials say fugitive pro-Russian oligarch Ilan Shor and his supporters were behind the vote rigging. Shor denies any wrongdoing.
