Macron: While we and our partners strive for peace, Russia continues to escalate the war
This information was voiced by him in a message in Ukrainian, published on the social network X, as reported by Ukrinform.
“On this day of national mourning in Ukraine, my thoughts are with the children and all the peaceful victims of Russia’s brutal attacks, especially on April 4 in Krivoy Rog,” he said.
Macron added that the previous evening, Russian attacks were again directed at residential areas of Kyiv and a number of other Ukrainian cities.
“While Ukraine accepted President Trump’s offer of a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire nearly a month ago, and we are working with all our partners to find a path to peace, Russia continues to escalate the conflict with increasing intensity, demonstrating disregard for the civilian population,” he stressed.

He noted that these Russian attacks must be stopped.
“A ceasefire must be implemented as soon as possible. And decisive action must follow if Russia continues to drag its feet and reject peace initiatives. How long will Russia ignore peace proposals from the US and Ukraine while continuing to kill children and civilians?” he concluded.
On April 4, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Krivoy Rog, killing 20 people, nine of whom were children between the ages of 3 and 17.
April 6 has been declared a day of mourning in cities and villages across Ukraine in memory of the victims of the Russian attack.
