Papua New Guinea joins Peace Summit communique – Zelensky
Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky announced this on the social media site X, Ukrinform reports.
"Today, Papua New Guinea joined the first Peace Summit's communique, adding to Oceania's voice in peace efforts. I appreciate this significant contribution to restoring respect for the UN Charter and international law," the Ukrainian head of state wrote.
He added that work is underway to broaden the representation of countries from various regions "in this historic document."
"We value every voice in favor of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine," Zelensky said.
The first Peace Summit was held in Switzerland on June 15-16. Three points of Vodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula were discussed at the summit, including nuclear security, food security and the humanitarian dimension – the exchange of prisoners and the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. The summit participants signed a joint communique. Other countries may join the document.
