A strong Ukrainian army is the best guarantee of Ukraine's security – Sikorsky

Pand will participate in the Coalition of Volunteers, but there will be no physical presence of Pish military on the territory of Ukraine. A strong Ukrainian army is the best guarantee of the state's security.

This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Pisz Radosław Sikorski, on air on TVN24, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Panda will be part of this coalition, but will not be physically located on Ukrainian territory,” Sikorsky emphasized.

He added that plans for the coalition's participation in Ukraine are still being finalized, especially in light of a possible ceasefire.

The Pish diplomat emphasized that “the most reliable and best guarantee of Ukraine’s security is a brave and well-equipped Ukrainian army.”

Sikorsky noted that it is difficult to consider Russia's so-called “special military operation” a success, given that the Russian army, which was planning to achieve victory in “three days,” is still fighting in eastern Ukraine.

Russia has adapted its economy to military needs, he said, devoting about 40 percent of its budget to arms production while cutting investments in health care and other areas. Moscow also relies on stockpiles and equipment inherited from the Soviet Union. Putin, for example, began the conflict with more than 13,000 Soviet tanks that had been upgraded specifically for the conflict.

“The Ukrainians have destroyed a significant number of them, and even with this mobilization they are estimated to produce about 200 new tanks a year. So Russia's stocks are quickly being depleted,” the minister from Pysz said.

He stressed that there is a possibility that Russia will simply run out of weapons and ammunition to continue its aggressive war.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Pand will not send its troops to a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, as it is focused on protecting NATO's eastern flank – the border with Russia and Belarus. Warsaw will continue to support Kyiv as it did before, providing logistical assistance, including through the Rzeszow-Jasionka hub.
