Construction of the metro on Vynohradar: part of the avenue will be closed in the capital for a year

Starting April 5, part of European Union Avenue will be temporarily closed to traffic due to the construction of the Vynohradar metro. The restrictions will last until April 5, 2026.

During the period of traffic restrictions, changes will be made to the operation of ground passenger transport. The Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration informs about this and asks passengers to take the restrictions into account when planning their route.

It is noted that public transport will operate according to the following schemes:

  • temporary bus route No. 36TR “Pivnichna St. – Chornobylska St.” – Chornobylska St. – Ivan Vyhovsky St. (according to its own route), then European Union Ave. – Vasyl Poryk Ave. – Svobody Ave. – European Union Ave., then according to its own route bus route No. 102 “Bratislava Cinema – Vynohradar Housing Estate” – from the Bratislava Cinema to European Union Ave. (according to its own route), then – Svobody Ave. – Georgy Gongadze Ave. – European Union Ave. (to Vasyl Poryk Ave.)
  • shuttle bus No. 455 “Smilyanska St. — Svobody Ave.” — from Smilyanska St. to Ivan Vyhovsky St. (on its own route), then European Union Ave. — Vasyl Poryk Ave. — Svobody Ave. (turn at the intersection with Svitlytsky St.);
  • shuttle bus No. 465 “Prosp. Svobody — Pivdennyi railway station” — from Pivdennyi railway station to Ivan Vyhovskyi st. (along its own route), then European Union st. — Vasyl Poryk st. — Svobody st. (turn at the intersection with Svitlytskyi st.).

Changes in the operation of ground passenger transport running along European Union Avenue will be announced additionally.
