An unusual glow was noticed over Ukraine – what does it mean?

On the evening of March 24, residents of Ukraine and several European countries noticed a mysterious luminous spiral in the sky. The phenomenon was observed in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, as well as in Poland, Germany, and France.

According to experts from the Alpha Centauri project, the unusual glow was the result of the launch of the NROL-69 reconnaissance satellite, which was launched into orbit by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Polish astronomer Karol Wujczycki explained that such spirals occur during the operation of the second stage of the rocket, when it discharges fuel residues.

According to scientists, during the stabilization of the flight, the second stage of the rocket can rotate around its axis. Before entering the atmosphere and burning up, the remaining fuel is discharged. This happens in open space, where there is no air, so the gases form symmetrical structures that look like spirals.

Similar phenomena have been observed before after rocket launches, but due to the bright appearance and rarity of such events, they always arouse curiosity and surprise.
