Ukrainian Prime Minister Meets IMF Delegation

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Uma Ramakrishnan, Deputy Director of the IMF's Eurasian Department, to discuss preparations for the Fund's next mission.

Shmyhal shared details of the meeting on his Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.

He expressed gratitude for the IMF's participation in the recent meeting of the Ukrainian Donor Platform. The platform participants reaffirmed their continued support for Ukraine.

“In this context, I thanked the IMF team for the successful completion of the seventh review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which allowed Ukraine to receive another tranche of USD 400 million. In total, Ukraine has received more than USD 10 billion under the EFF program,” Shmyhal said.

He said that both sides discussed prospects for further cooperation and preparations for the upcoming IMF mission.

Shmyhal stressed that the IMF plays a key role in ensuring macroeconomic stability in Ukraine and in coordinating actions with other international partners to obtain financial support.

“We are confident that our close and productive cooperation will continue,” he added.

At the 13th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Ukrainian Donor Platform, it was confirmed that Ukraine’s need for budget financing in the amount of USD 39.3 billion will be fully covered by international partners.
