Galushchenko discussed energy security issues of Ukraine with the British Ambassador

The head of the Ministry of Energy noted that, despite the difficulties of the winter season, Ukraine is successfully completing the heating season and is already beginning preparations for the next one.
The meeting participants considered the development of initiatives to strengthen the energy security of Ukraine and the European Union, in particular, the possibility of using Ukrainian gas storage facilities for the needs of the member countries of the Eurasian Union.

Issues of financial support for the Ukrainian energy sector were also discussed, in particular, within the framework of the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund, which has proven itself to be an effective tool for purchasing equipment for fuel and energy companies.
The parties considered areas of cooperation to strengthen the protection of energy facilities using both active and passive means, as well as issues of ensuring nuclear and radiation safety and returning the Zaporizhzhya NPP under the full control of Ukraine.

As reported, issues of energy security in the region and cooperation between the parties to ensure it were discussed at a meeting between German Galushchenko and the Director General of the Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood of the European Commission (DG ENEST) Jan Koman.
