White House Explains Reasons for VOA Funding Cut
This was reported on the official website of the White House, as reported by Ukrinform.
The administration of US President Donald Trump, citing statements from various media outlets, noted that the broadcaster violated journalistic standards and tried to avoid responsibility.
Additionally, several VOA employees posted anti-Trump comments on their professional accounts on the social media platform X, despite the platform's commitment to impartiality, the statement said.

The White House also said that VOA management had ordered its staff not to refer to Hamas or its members as terrorists “except when quoting statements”; in October 2020, the station reported on possible Russian involvement in a scandal involving former U.S. President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, which the Trump administration viewed as “downplaying” the story; in March 2019, VOA aired a report on transgender migrants seeking asylum in the United States.
As previously reported, Voice of America employees were sent on paid leave, the day after Donald Trump signed an order to liquidate the broadcaster's parent agency.
Also, the staff of the Ukrainian branch of the Voice of America, like all media outlets, were sent on administrative leave, as a result of which broadcasting was suspended.
