Russian Propaganda Spreads Fake News About Musk's Alleged Involvement in 'Kursk Bombing Failure' – Disinformation Observer

The claims that “Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Kirill Ignatenko” blamed Elon Musk and SpaceX for the “failure of Operation Kursk” are a fabrication of Russian propaganda.

The Center for Combating Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine refuted this false information via Telegram, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Hostile media are distributing a fake video, stylized as a report from Radio Free Era, in which the so-called Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kirill Ignatenko, claims that malfunctions in the Starlink led to the failure of the operation in the Kursk region of Russia. In fact, there is no such video on official media resources. Moreover, there is no person named Kirill Ignatenko among the Deputy Commanders-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the statement reads.

The aim of the fake news is to undermine trust between Ukraine and its international partners and to cause tensions between Ukraine and the United States, the anti-disinformation organization said.
