Should you turn clothes inside out when washing: arguments for and against
Many housewives turn every thing inside out before washing, because this is exactly the wisdom that our mothers and grandmothers taught us. But is there really any practical sense in this action? Supporters of washing clothing inside out give the following arguments in favor:

- Zippers, buttons, and other accessories do not damage other items when washed together in the machine.
- Zippers and buttons retain their functionality longer and do not lose their attractive appearance. They are less likely to get scratches and chips. Washing clothes inside out allows you to preserve appliqués, labels, rhinestone patterns, and embroidery.
- Smudges form on the fabric less often and in smaller quantities.
- There are no stains from washing powder on the front side of clothes.
- Washed items do not need to be turned inside out to dry them carefully.
Opponents of washing clothes inside out claim that it is not effective enough. Doing so cannot effectively remove stains and other contaminants from clothes. And that is true.
Having reviewed the arguments “for” and “against”, let's summarize:
- Wash clothes inside out if they have difficult stains or if the fabric they are made of is difficult to wash;
- If you just need to freshen things up, don't be lazy to turn them inside out before washing.
