How to lubricate the door lock of the front door

With grease or oil, you will say. And you will be right, unless, of course, you are going to lubricate the lock with oil. But if there is no grease at hand, then what? Nothing. The problem is completely solvable. A simple pencil will come to our aid.

What and how to do?

We take a sharp knife and carefully sharpen the lead of a simple pencil with this knife, having previously placed a sheet of paper under it. As a result, you will get graphite powder, which will help us lubricate the lock.

To do this, the powder needs to be sent inside the door lock larva. A paper tube will help us with this.

We roll up a small sheet of paper with a funnel so that a thin hole forms at the end of this funnel. We direct this hole inside the door lock larva and pour graphite powder into it through the funnel.

Now all that's left to do is turn the key in the keyhole a few times so that the lock mechanism is completely lubricated with graphite dust.

Why does this method work?

Graphite grease is considered one of the most effective for lubricating such mechanisms. If you don't have such a grease on hand, then pencil lead powder can be a good substitute.
