Zelensky notes importance of mobilizing EU regions around Ukraine’s recovery

Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky at a meeting with Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and President of the Eurean Committee of the Regions Vasco Cordeiro emphasized the importance of supporting the initiative to mobilize EU regions around Ukraine's recovery.

That's according to the press service of the head of state, Ukrinform reports.

"The war is still going on, but we already need to restore a lot of infrastructure, educational and medical facilities. Therefore, we must also convey this message to the governments of other countries and businesses so that they come and invest in Ukraine," Zelensky said, emphasizing the importance of the Committee's support for the initiative to mobilize EU regions around the restoration of Ukraine.

He also thanked Hidalgo for supporting tens of thousands of Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes and for more than a hundred trucks with humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

Zelensky also noted France's leadership on the energy track and its assistance to Ukraine in getting through a difficult winter, when the Russians tried to leave Ukrainians without light and heat.

He also pointed to Hidalgo's personal steadfast position on the issue of not allowing Russian athletes to compete in international competitions, first and foremost, in the ympic Games in Paris next year.
