Ukraine to Work with US on Mutually Acceptable Minerals Agreement – Foreign Minister Sibikha
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga at a joint press conference with his Lithuanian counterpart Kestutis Budrys in Kyiv, as reported by Ukrinform.
He stressed that Ukraine was ready to sign the previously prepared framework agreement, however, according to him, the request for its development was received on March 28 through diplomatic channels, and the necessary internal procedures began.
“I also confirm that we have begun the relevant consultations with the American side on the text of the agreement. One round of these consultations has already been held. The Ukrainian side is determined to sign a document that will take into account the mutual national interests of both the United States and Ukraine,” Sybiga noted.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that the text of the agreement, which envisages further strengthening the presence of large American companies, will be an important contribution to Ukraine’s security infrastructure.
“We will cooperate with our American partners to achieve a mutually acceptable text for signing,” the minister concluded.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to President Zelensky, on Friday Ukraine officially received from the United States a new version of the agreement on mineral resources, which differs significantly from the previous one. The president confirmed that the agreement — on the creation of a joint investment fund for the development and reconstruction of Ukraine with the United States — will not contain any debts to the United States.
