UK PM, NATO Secretary General Discuss Support for Ukraine

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Paris on Thursday morning ahead of the Coalition of the Willing summit. The two leaders discussed support for Ukraine.

This was reported by Sky News, citing a statement from a representative of the UK government, Ukrinform reports.

“They discussed their continued support for Ukraine, agreeing that everything must be done to support it in its fight and to keep the pressure on Putin,” Downing Street said in a statement.

A UK government spokesman added that Starmer and Rutte had noted the significant role of the United States in helping to achieve the ceasefire agreement and confirmed that they were ready to support a sustainable and lasting peace once it was achieved.

Starmer also reiterated his unwavering commitment to NATO “as the cornerstone of our security.”
