Trump's Special Representative Names Date of Next Meeting with Russians in Saudi Arabia

US and Russian delegations will meet for a new round of discussions on a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war on Sunday, March 23, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

This was announced in an interview with Fox News by the US President's Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, as reported by Ukrinform.

“I had two meetings with President Putin. The first was about three and a half hours, while the second was about four hours. Both conversations were productive, and I think we made significant progress, particularly in the second meeting, where we really focused on specific issues, certainly taking into account Russia’s positions. We immediately began discussing clear and detailed steps towards a ceasefire, including a ceasefire on energy infrastructure on both sides, which they have been seeking for quite some time. And secondly, a ceasefire in the Black Sea. I believe that both of those aspects have now been agreed upon by the Russian side. I certainly hope that the Ukrainians will agree to that. Of course, we need to discuss some details, but that will start on Sunday in Jeddah. Then we will move on to a full ceasefire,” he said.
