Trump expects Ukraine mineral deal to be signed 'soon'

US President Donald Trump predicts that a rare earth metals agreement with Ukraine will be signed “soon.”

As Reuters reports, he stated this on Monday at a government meeting in the White House, as reported by Ukrinform.

Trump said he expected Ukraine to reach a mining agreement “soon.”

The White House leader also told reporters that the United States is in discussions with Ukraine about granting American companies the rights to manage Ukrainian power plants.

As previously reported, on Thursday US President Donald Trump confirmed his intention to sign an agreement with Ukraine on the joint development of rare earth metal deposits.

Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Minister of Justice of Ukraine Stefanishyna explained that the agreement between Ukraine and the United States does not include the transfer of subsoil use rights or any property rights.

In February, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to sign an agreement between Ukraine and the United States to create an Investment Fund for Reconstruction.
