Starmer and Macron coordinate further steps to peacefully resolve Russia-Ukraine war

On Friday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss next steps to peacefully end Russia's war against Ukraine in the context of the agreements reached between the US and Ukraine in Jeddah.

As reported by Ukrinform, information about this was posted on the official website of the UK government.

“This afternoon, the Prime Minister discussed matters with French President Emmanuel Macron. The leaders began their conversation by reflecting on the significant progress made by President Trump and President Zelenskyy on the peace plan this week,” the statement said.

During the conversation, President Macron briefed Starmer on the meeting of defence ministers that took place in Paris earlier this week. The British Prime Minister noted the importance of concrete steps taken by NATO allies and members in support of Ukraine.

“Tomorrow's meeting of the Coalition of the Willing will be another key moment to further mobilise support and maintain momentum,” the prime minister added, according to the UK government.

As reported by Ukrinform, on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the latest developments and agree on further actions.
