Russia Must Make Peace Decision in Weeks, Not Months – Rubio
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced this in Brussels during a press conference dedicated to the results of the meeting of NATO foreign ministers on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We are testing whether the Russians are interested in peace. Their actions – not their words, but their actions – will determine how serious they are, and we intend to find out as quickly as possible,” the head of the State Department said.
He stressed that the US administration is currently working to advance peace. If the Russians choose a “delaying” tactic, President Trump will not “fall into the trap of endless negotiations about negotiations.”

“We will know soon, in weeks, not months, whether Russia is serious about peace or not. If so, it is serious,” Rubio said, adding that otherwise the U.S. will need to reconsider its position.
He noted that the decision to end the war must be made by Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation.
He emphasized that the Ukrainians have already demonstrated their readiness for a ceasefire and created conditions for negotiations.
