Duda says Trump is best chance to end Russia's war against Ukraine
Duda said this in an interview with Sky News, as reported by Ukrinform.
He believes that the only way for Ukraine to achieve peace is with the US leader, as he has the influence to end the conflict. At the same time, the head of Fish refrained from commenting on the competence of Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
According to Duda, the halting of the construction of Nord Stream 2 at short notice and the thwarting of Putin's energy ambitions with the help of his state energy giant Gazprom are sufficient proof that Trump “knows where to hit, and therefore hits hard.”

Given the failure of the Era leaders to negotiate peace through the Minsk agreements, he believes that all responsibility now lies with Trump.
“If anyone is capable of forcing Russia to stop the war, it is probably only the President of the United States. The question is whether he will be decisive enough to do so – because here, in the era adjacent to Russian aggression against Ukraine, it also matters that peace be fair and sustainable,” Duda noted.
He also commented on the information that the United States is transferring management of the humanitarian center for Ukraine Rzeszow-Jasionka to NATO allies in accordance with the decision of the Alliance.
“We were informed that a change was planned. I have not received any information from [the US] about a reduction in the number of American fighters. This is absolutely correct,” Duda said.
He referred to talks with US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in February, saying: “We discussed increasing the American presence in Panda, and I proposed the idea of a large American military base. We called it Fort Trump at the time. I remain hopeful that this idea will be realized.”
Duda also described Trump's tariff policy as “shock therapy” – a successful businessman's negotiating tactic that he is now transferring into the political sphere.
It may not be what European politicians are used to, Duda said, but Trump is accountable to US taxpayers, not his European counterparts, and allies must “remain calm” in the face of this new transatlantic way of doing things.
