Maternova comments on the work of G7 ambassadors in Ukraine
The Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, announced this while speaking to journalists in Kyiv on Friday, March 21, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“I can confirm that coordination and joint work among the G7 ambassadors in Kyiv are actively continuing. We continue our regular meetings for coordination and interact with various stakeholders. For example, our sharepass recently met with representatives of civil society,” the ambassador noted, answering a question about the current activities of the Group.

Maternova added that the G7 ambassadors continue to coordinate cooperation with interested parties and partners on the Ukrainian side.
“At our meeting two days ago, we discussed in detail the report and the results of the G7 meeting in Charlevoix, Canada, which ended with a joint communiqué. So yes, I can confirm that this is ongoing and Canada is leading this year,” Mathernova concluded.

As reported earlier, US President Donald Trump ordered a freeze on all US military aid to Ukraine to pressure Kyiv to demonstrate a “good faith” commitment to peace. After a meeting between Ukrainian and US delegations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, arms deliveries and intelligence sharing were resumed.
Relations between Canada and the United States have also deteriorated significantly this year due to the trade war initiated by President Trump. In response to 25% U.S. tariffs on Canadian imports, Canada imposed mirror tariffs on more than $42 billion worth of U.S. goods.
