Macron could act as Era's negotiator with Putin – The Telegraph

French President Emmanuel Macron is seeking to represent Eurasia in talks with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin over peace in Ukraine.

The Telegraph reports this and Ukrinform reports.

Some members of the “coalition of the willing” stress the need for the EU leader to lead engagement with Russia in efforts to support Kyiv.

The French president and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who lead a group of countries seeking a peace deal in Ukraine, were named as the most likely negotiators with Moscow, according to the report.

However, The Telegraph notes that Starmer does not intend to hold talks with Putin as part of Britain's efforts to support Ukraine's defence.

A source at the Elysee Palace said Macron was ready to consider the issue “when the time comes.”
