Current security and combat situation discussed with Ukrainian delegation at NATO headquarters

A meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council in the format of military representatives was recently held at NATO headquarters, where the parties discussed current security in Ukraine and the progress of military operations.

As reported by Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed about this on Facebook.

The event was chaired by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

During the meeting, the military representative of Ukraine to NATO, Major General Serhiy Salkutsan, told partners about the current state of security in Ukraine and the progress of military operations.

Brigadier General Gennadiy Shapovalov, Ukraine's Military Representative to the NATO Security Assistance and Training Team for Ukraine (NSATU) and the Security Assistance Group-Ukraine (SAG-U), presented a report discussing the main aspects of the NSATU's work.

“The main goal of creating this mission is to coordinate and systematize the efforts of international partners to meet the medium-term and long-term needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the General Staff noted.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to countering information challenges and Russian propaganda. Deputy Chief of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Andriy Dyda, shared Ukraine's experience in combating Russian information attacks in the process of defending against full-scale armed aggression by Russia.

“Today, the Russian Federation is not only waging armed aggression against Ukraine, but also information terrorism against the entire civilized world. Therefore, our task – together with our partners – is to improve the mechanisms for countering Russian propaganda. Ukraine's many years of experience in combating Russian hybrid attacks is extremely valuable for our partners and is successfully used by them,” Dyda emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Bundeswehr and German intelligence warned that Russia is preparing for a direct conflict with NATO.
