UN Relief Coordinator Visits Zaporizhia

The UN Permanent Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Matthias Schmale, visited the Zaporizhzhya Emergency Hospital and the training center of the Motobudivnyk vocational school.

The regional military administration reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“Matthias Schmale visited two important sites in Zaporizhia: the trauma department of the city emergency hospital, where reconstruction work is being carried out, and the training center of the vocational school “Motostroitel”,” the administration indicated.

It was noted that the visit to the training centre left a deep impression on the UN coordinator. He believes that vocational education is as important as university education.

“I was struck by the fact that women make up half of the students and that they are keen to acquire professional skills that are in demand in business and industry,” Matthias Schmale said, according to the report, which was written in Ukrainian.

He added that qualified specialists are needed to restore the economy.

As reported by Ukrinform, the first center for practical training of builders opened in Lviv.
