Zelenskyy named two issues that he will not discuss with Russia

There are two points that Ukraine will not discuss with Russia in future negotiations. They concern the army and economic security guarantees.

This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference with President of Finland Alexander Stubb.

“I don't want to discuss with them (from the Russian Federation, – ed.) what our army should be, because this is part of the security guarantees for Ukrainians. I also don't intend to discuss with them economic security guarantees, where the European Union is the main economic security guarantee for Ukraine,” he said.

The president called these two points “the unconditional things we need.”

Prisoner exchange and temporarily occupied territories

Zelensky stressed that the issue of releasing prisoners remains a priority: “Thousands of people in prisons, not only military personnel, they should all be with their families, and those whom they tortured – we must get them all and return them home. Unfortunately, even the dead. These are unconditional things that must happen.”

He also emphasized that the territories temporarily occupied by Russia remain temporarily occupied and “they will never become Russian.”

As a reminder, on Tuesday, March 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Finland for a visit. Speaking to reporters, Zelensky said that Russia has begun to pull its troops to the border of the Sumy region. The Russians are also preparing an offensive in several directions.
