Kyiv mayor reports 42 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths in past day

Thirteen new patients have been hospitalized, while the rest are self-isolating.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city rose by 42 in the past day, April 21, to 892 cases.

“In the past 24 hours, the number of Kyiv residents who tested positive [for the coronavirus] increased by 42, including four healthcare workers. Another two deaths were recorded in the past day. In total, there are 892 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kyiv,” he said during an online briefing on April 21, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

According to Klitschko, 15 women aged 25 to 67 and 25 men aged 18 to 72 are among those infected. In addition, a seven-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 13 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine reported 415 new coronavirus cases, including 10 deaths, in the past day, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 6,125 as of the morning of April 21.
